Ken Perlin, a professor of Computer Science at NYU, directs the Games For Learning Institute, and is a member of the NYU Media and Games Network. Research interests include graphics, animation, augmented/mixed reality, user interface, science education and multimedia. Awards include an Academy Award for Technical Achievement, 2008 ACM/SIGGRAPH Achievement Award, TrapCode award, NYC Mayor's award, Sokol award, and NSF Presidential Young Investigator award. He was general chair of the UIST2010 conference, and his work has been featured artist at the Whitney Museum of American Art. He received his Ph.D. in CS from NYU, and B.A. in mathematics from Harvard.
